Yes, I have been doing same thing, only with LMDB. The value here is that I can just refresh one table when the relevant data comes in, rather than having to run the ingest process for everything all over again. Similarly, I can use these sorts of techniques when I am analyzing other datasets. sqlite database file, kept with the logs, for answers. Occasionally I will receive questions as to "why did this happen?" and I can just start running queries on the resultant. I am happy to say that an ETL process I wrote using this general method back around 2009 is probably still running. Speed is not important to me here, only understanding what changes needed to be made and having a record of what they were and why. All of this is so I can make only the changes that need to be made. sqlite, they might be good for an UPDATE. Finally, I can compare records where some ID is present in my input and my. If a record is not present in my input and is there in the target, that would suggest a DELETE. Then I can mark certain records as not being present in the target database, so they must be INSERTed. Often (and this is task-dependent), I will have to pull in data from other server-based databases, typically the target. Also, I can reference something that might be DELETEd in an a later table. This is so I can always go back one step for any post-mortem if I need to. It is as "raw" as I can get it.Įach successive transformation occurs on a new table. The input data is loaded into the appropriate tables and then indexed as appropriate (or if appropriate). This could be some default values or even test records for later injection. Some configuration data is loaded in from files first. sqlite database from scratch each time in Python, building out table after table as I like it. SQLite (or other embedded database, like BerkleyDB) can give the best of both worlds- fast random access, low memory usage, and easy to ship. if you just serialize your model after training it), it can be too large to fit in memory. If you store that data in Postgres, Mongo or Redis, it becomes hard to ship your model alongside with updated data sets. I'm not saying ALWAYS use SQLite for these cases, but in the right scenario it can simplify things significantly.Īnother similar use case would be AI/ML models that require a bunch of data to operate (e.g. Seems like lot of people's default, understandably, is to use JSON as the output and intermediate results, but if you use SQLite, you'd have all the benefits of SQL (indexes, joins, grouping, ordering, querying logic, and random access) and many of the benefits of JSON files (SQLite DBs are just files that are easy to copy, store, version, etc and don't require a centralized service). Come here if you wish to chat with your dive mates and not worry about being glued to your phones because they don't provide wifi here (which is just fine).I think a good under-appreciated use case for SQLite is as a build artifact of ETL processes/build processes/data pipelines. The only one thing I found particularly annoying was the amount of flies buzzing literally everywhere - they just won't quit!! All in all, still a good dining experience because of the pros listed above. First visit was fine so I guess it really depends. I ordered the Thai stir fried basil pork with rice and requested it super spicy and it turned out just the way I liked it! As for the ambiance, the second visit there was some strange sewage smell next to the restaurant so that was unsettling. Came on two separate occasions during lunch when it's more quiet as dinner time there can be a queue. What sets this restaurant apart from others in Koh Tao is the easy to read menu, great prices (other neighbouring restaurants are of a slightly higher price) and the food. Well, let's be honest, we know what we expect when dining in a casual restaurant on an island.

Helldivers is released on PC too! However, Helldivers is not released on Xbox. Will Helldivers be released on PC or Xbox? No risk of growing tired of the game before it’s even done. But we’ll be happy to deliver you a full experience from the start instead, playing a polished game with everyone else. We are targeting 60fps on PS4 and targeting 30fps on PS3 and Vita. No, but PS4 remote play and PS4 sharing is. In true Arrowhead spirit, Helldivers features full “friendly” fire, allowing you to “accidentally” kill your friends, again. Yes, at any time another player can join the action. You can have two on the PS4, one on the PS3 and one on the PS VITA for example. Helldivers offers 4-player local and online co-op multiplayer, and any combination in between (except for the Vita which doesn’t really support local co-op since it only has one controller). Will it have local multiplayer or only online play? Yes, between PS4, PS3 and VITA, with full Cross-Save and Cross-Chat. Now we’re excited to the point of bursting to finally release Helldivers to all of you! We’re happy to say the game is massively improved from what it would have been during summer. Quite a challenge with a small team that hasn’t touched the platform before and with many small things to optimize. Then there was the issue of getting the game to run smoothly on the VITA. The testers all reported the same thing: Helldivers now needed a seriously improved tutorial and user interface. Helldivers needed cooler stratagems, more weapons, better enemies, richer worlds, more choices! But with more complexity comes also a higher barrier to understanding the game. As the game grew in quality and complexity, so did Sony’s eagerness to support our quest for the Best Game Ever™. March 3 – US, March 4 – EU, March 5 – Asia.Īs you’ve all noticed, the first tentative plans of a summer release were replaced with ‘it’ll be done when it’s done’. Hardcore, cooperative, twin stick shooter. We will keep updating this Q&A with any question that we can reply to. Have a look if yours has been answered and if not, feel free to ask it in the link provided in the bottom. To answer a bunch of your most pressing questions we’ve put together this Q&A with the most common ones. What an overwhelmingly excited response we’ve gotten from the HELLDIVERS release date announcement! (an abbreviation for id est, Latin for “that is”) gives you a clue that this sentence can be treated identically to the previous example. previous studies that lead to present conclusions.” “Furthermore, a scientific conclusion is based on the past, i.e. “They may also be judicially voided for being unreasonable, that is, unsupported by the evidence claimed to justify them.”Ī colon is often employed to set off a sentence from a subsequent clarification, but the adverb - and the fact that the clarification is an incomplete sentence - justifies use of an em dash here: “They may also be judicially voided for being unreasonable - that is, unsupported by the evidence claimed to justify them.”Ĥ. Again, set the adverb off with a comma: “There is a job to be done - namely, educating educators how to effectively teach that wildlife conservation addresses quality of life for everyone.” (Without the comma, the sentence seems to refer to “namely educating educators,” but how do you do something in a namely manner?)ģ. The traditional marker for explanation is a colon, but an em dash does just as well. The phrase that follows “There is a job to be done” is an explanation of what is meant by that phrase. “There is a job to be done, namely educating educators how to effectively teach that wildlife conservation addresses quality of life for everyone.” Note the shift with an em dash, and follow the adverb with a comma to mark elision of a repetition of the phrase “for putting up with”: “I thank them for putting up with this project with such good sportsmanship - indeed, with such exuberance.”Ģ. The phrase beginning with indeed is tacked on to the basic sentence to provide an additional, loosely related thought. “I thank them for putting up with this project with such good sportsmanship, indeed with such exuberance.” In these cases, the linking function of an em dash is appropriate:ġ. Often, though, the interruption in sentence structure is somewhere between comma country and semicolon stature: The phrase that begins with the adverb is something more than a dependent clause but not quite an independent clause. (In each case, the adverb could also appear at the end of the sentence - after a comma.) “They are highly skilled however, they do not possess the level of knowledge you do.” If they are employed to indicate a new thought, stronger punctuation is called for: “You must, after all, admit that it was a good effort.” Because they are parenthetical remarks (the framing sentence would be complete without them), they should be set off by commas: If you write less formal information, such as marketing information, you can use em dashes for emphasis.Sentential adverbs (words such as indeed or namely and phrases like “that is” and “of course”), and their close cousins the conjunctive adverbs, or adverbial conjunctions ( however, “on the other hand,” and the like), indicate an interruption of thought, and should themselves appear as interruptions. Because the em dash draws attention to the content that it sets off so strongly, it adds a level of informality to the text. M dashes should be avoided in formal technical information if you want your tone to be neutral and direct. In contrast, there are also sources that advise against using the em dash in formal texts: 90), “weakens the flow of material.” One sentence with a phrase set off by em dashes draws the reader’s attention but frequent interruptions of this type risk making your text seem disjointed or cumbersome.ĪPA Blog: Computer Editing Tip: Em Dashes When used with care, this technique can really punctuate your point (pun intended)!īut “overuse,” notes the Publication Manual (p. The text between the dashes is typically a digression or outright interruption of the main idea of the sentence. Or, em dashes may set off a phrase midsentence-a technique that really draws a reader’s attention-as they do in this sentence. The novelty of the em dash makes it perfect for text that you want to stand out.Īn em dash might set off a phrase at the end of a sentence-like this one. 97) notes that em dashes are “used to set off an element added to amplify or to digress from the main clause.” The em dash draws a reader’s attention, partly because of the physical separation that the longer dash creates and partly because these dashes appear less frequently than hyphens and en dashes. For example, this is what APA says:įirst, when would you use an em dash? The Publication Manual (p. Em dashes can be used if allowed by your style guide (but don't use them too often). The operator enters the samples identification data, selects the analytical method and starts the analysis that proceeds unattended until all the vials defined in the instrument run queue are analyzed. Samples are put in solid form into 20 mL vials and brought to an autosampler tray with capacity of 42 vials. The proposed method constitutes a precise and convenient approach to intrinsic viscosity measurement, due to the automation of all the analytical procedures, from filling of vials to the reporting of results. The relative viscosity is calculated as a function of time as the injected solution goes through the system, and any influence of flow-rate variations (such as high frequency pump pulsations) or thermal effects are cancelled out directly by the reference capillary, resulting in very high sensitivity and long-term stability.Īn automated technique for Intrinsic Viscosity Analysis It also accounts for differences in tubing dimensions, so in this design, it is not required that the capillaries stay accurately matched. The constant is automatically measured with every injection thus, compensating for small, long-term variations in capillaries (self-calibrating). An instrumental constant is easily measured by flowing pure solvent through the two capillaries. The pressure drop across each capillary is measured continuously as a function of time by high sensitivity differential pressure transducers.Īccording to Equations (1) and (2), the relative viscosity is proportional to the ratio of differential pressures, being independent of the flow rate. The proposed new method performs the polymer intrinsic viscosity measurement by means of a two-capillary relative viscosity detector, concept that was developed and patented by Yau in the 80s (US 4,793,174), as a robust method in contrast to temperature, pressure or solvent flow-rate variations.Ĭapillary viscometers rely on the principle that under a forced flow (Q), the pressure drop (ΔP) due to a fluid traveling along a capillary tubing of length L and radius r, is proportional to the absolute viscosity of the flowing fluid (η), according to Poiseuille’s law:Ī serial viscometer design has been implemented for the new method: two pieces of capillary tubing are connected in series in such a way that the first one experiments the flow of pure solvent while the second one simultaneously receives the flow of the dilute polymer solution. Dissolution temperature and analysis temperature can be set independently, from ambient to 200✬, so that a wide range of polymers, even the most crystalline ones, can be analyzed with convenience and safety with this alternative approach. It is compatible with typically used organic solvents such as decalin, tetralin, tri-chlorobenzene (TCB) and ortho-dichlorobenzene among many others. The recently developed technique is an automated process for viscosity measurements of polymeric materials in solution. It must be noted however, that intrinsic viscosity is not a property of the polymer itself, as molar mass is, but rather a property of the polymer solution, influenced by the solvent and temperature. The relative viscosity of a dilute polymer solution to that of the pure solvent itself is measured and, from it, the Intrinsic Viscosity ( IV or ) of the polymer is calculated.ĭue to the popularity of dilute solution viscosity measurements, and the availability of those methods in many manufacturing laboratories, the intrinsic viscosity of polymers has been traditionally used to specify and to control the production grades. The determination of the solution viscosity of polymeric materials is very important to the industry, both to research and manufacturing, since it can be used to estimate the molar mass, providing important information relating to the physical properties of polymers. This new process becomes a practical and convenient alternative to manual or semi-automated methods. The serial capillaries design is self-cleaning and self-calibrating, ensuring reliable and precise data. The technique uses a two-capillary serial viscometer that collects relative viscosity data from which intrinsic viscosity is derived. New research leads to the development of an automated and versatile technique for intrinsic viscosity (or solution viscosity) determination of a wide range of polymers in different solvents, from ambient temperature up to 200✬. Introduction: In this post, we are going to see how to use docker httpd image and extend it to suit our needs and run the Apache web server as a Docker container. Then the client entry point script has access to the proxy container's IP via an environment variable.īy the way, if you can get away with using mitmproxy in non-transparent mode (configure the client explicitly to use an HTTP proxy), I'd highly recommend it. Docker Reverse Proxy - Docker httpd apache example. Container linking makes that easier: you can start the proxy container, and link it when starting the client container. If this is a setup you'll be repeating regularly, consider using an entry point script on the client image that will set this up for you automatically when the container starts. In the "client" container, just use ip route commands to change the default gateway to the proxy container's IP address on the docker bridge. I use a small start script as the proxy image's entry point for this since network settings changes occur at container runtime only and cannot be specified in a Dockerfile or otherwise persisted. In the "proxy" container, configure the iptables pre-routing NAT rule according to the mitmproxy transparent mode instructions, then start mitmproxy (with the -T flag to enable transparent mode). Make sure to use that option when starting both containers, since they both require some network adjustments to enable transparent packet interception. In this case, the one you require is called CAP_NET_ADMIN (full list here: ), so you could add -cap-add NET_ADMIN to your docker run command. By running in privileged mode, you grant all capabilities to the container - but there is also an option to grant individual capabilities as needed. The default capability set granted to containers does not allow a container to modify network settings. |
